Application is everything. A thin coat results in warm satin yellowish greens, a thick application brings deeper glossy greenish browns. The resulting variety creates a beautiful palette of undulating hues. Mountain Ash, a luscious yet quiet glaze, is literally made from the ash of aspen and pine collected from my studio wood stove.

Shaping field tile over a rounded form produces a "pillowed" effect which lends dimensionality to the surface.
